It will be 10 weeks since IM Melbourne when the gun goes off in Middlebury, CT. After taking longer than expected to recover from IM, I chose to withdraw from Wildflower. This was a really tough decision as I love this race and would love to add my name to the winner’s list one day. It is a long season and I felt as though my body wasn’t ready to start the racing season just yet. Being back in Boulder since the beginning of April has been fantastic. I have trained consistently and have had a great time along the way. Training with great friends makes the job so much easier.
Since he relocated to Boulder last fall, fellow Aussie pro Richie Cunningham and I have been inseparable! Add to the mix, Scotland’s own and fellow Trek/K-Swiss athlete Fraser Cartmell and South African Dan ‘the florist’ Hugo means that the group is not short of talent, let alone personalities! Everyone has his own strengths and weaknesses but all add to a very positive group dynamic. It’s now less than 2 weeks until Richie and I go head to head in Quassy and nothing would please us both more than going 1,2 and we don’t mind who gets which!
